Expertise & Skills
Linux administration
- Exensive experience with administrative tools—GNU coreutils, systemd, bash, Ansible, networking tuning, networking security (SSH hardening, WAFs, mTLS).
Programming and scripting
- Proficiency in Python for scripting, scientific computing, and data analysis.
- Proficiency in Golang for performant scripting, and small web apps. Extensive experience with the AWS SDK for writing fast and efficient Lambdas, with experience in goroutines, structured logging, unit tests and benchmarking.
Orchestration and serverless
- Experience with various orchestration tools, such as Docker, Docker Swarm, Docker Compose, HashiCorp Consul and Nomad, AWS EKS and ECS. Experience with container daemon security hardening, and container size optimisation.
GitOps and DevSecOps
- Experience with writing CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/GitHub). Designed pipelines to build and test AMIs, build and push container images, run repetitive tasks to audit and correct GitLab project configuration as part of security remediation.
- Proficiency in using Terraform for IaC and writing internal Terraform modules to enforce security non-negotiables. Deployed Atlantis for automating Terraform PRs, and integrated OpenTofu and OPA via conftest for policy checking into the workflow. Also wrote many rego policies for various AWS services.
